Coming January 1st! EVV Claims Processing Changes

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) began rolling out EVV processing claims changes on March 1,2025. The next claims impacted by this federally required change include personal care services, waiver nursing, and home care attendant services. Beginning in January certain claims requiring EVV must have a matching visit record. Claims that do not match will be denied.

Please see the full list of impacted services below.

  • Personal Care Services: T1019, Billed to ODM (or AGE for PASSPORT)

  • Waiver Nursing: T1002, T1003, Billed to ODM (or AGE for PASSPORT)

  • Home Care Attendant Service: S5125, Billed to ODM (or AGE for PASSPORT)

  • Choices Home Care Attendant: T2025, Submitted to PPL for Self-direction or AGE for agency providers (PASSPORT only)

  • Enhanced Community Living: T2025 UA U1, Billed to AGE (PASSPORT only)

ODM’s EVV Provider Dashboard is now updated with data on claim lines since July 2024 with paid dates after September 2024. The dashboard allows you to see the number of claim lines and dollar amounts associated with specific EVV errors.

For assistance navigating the dashboard, we recommend you review the provider lookup quick reference guide.

ODM is working with HHA (formerly Sandata), an EVV vendor, to make sure all are ready for this change. Office hours are available daily on Zoom for 1:1 assistance.   Additionally, ODM has tools available to you on the EVV website.
