As part of PCG’s contract with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), we are required to conduct annual training for all staff working on the OH HCBS project. Please view this training by 6/19/2025.
Course Overview
This course walks the participant through the process of critical and reportable incident investigations such as abuse, neglect, and exploitation according to the Ohio Administrative Code Incident Management Rule, 5160-44-05 as it applies to certain Medicaid waivers. This rule sets the standards and procedures for managing incidents that may affect the health, safety and welfare of waiver individuals. The course identifies who are mandated reporters of these incidents, and the procedures/timelines for reporting and addressing the incidents to prevent and reduce the risk of harm to individuals
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Define critical and reportable incidents
Identify the timeframes in which incidents must be reported, documented, investigated, and closed in the incident management system (IMS)
Fulfill their responsibility as required reporters and take immediate action to ensure the health and safety of individuals
Recognize the incident management process prevents future incidents from occurring and improves quality of care
