Trauma Informed Care: What to know when working with individuals who have experienced trauma

Understanding how an individual has experienced trauma in their life helps you adopt a trauma-informed approach to services that supports a feeling of safety and avoids actions that could retraumatize the individual. This training will define trauma, trauma informed care, and provide an overview of the assumptions and driving principles of a trauma-informed approach and helpful trauma related responses when interacting with individuals who have experienced trauma in their life.

 

This course meets the requirements for 1 hour of credit towards the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s (ODM) required annual 6 hours of continuing education for Non-Agency Personal Care Aides (PCAs). Please provide the following information for access to the training. You will receive a certificate via email within 24 hours after completing the training. Please check your junk/spam box as sometimes these certificates are directed there.
