From Awareness to Action: COPD Guidance for In-Home Care Providers
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive, incurable condition that affects breathing and quality of life. Nurses and other in-home waiver providers play a key role in early detection, symptom management, patient education, and care coordination. This course offers an overview of COPD—its symptoms, progression, risk factors, and treatment options—along with best practices for documentation, symptom identification, and communicating exacerbations to the case manager.
This course meets the requirements for 1 hour of credit towards the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s (ODM) required annual 6 hours of continuing education for Non-Agency Personal Care Aides (PCAs).
Note: Public Consulting Group is an approved provider for Counselor (Provider #RCX0117001), Social Work (Provider # RSX071403), and Marriage and Family Therapist (Provider #RTX072504) CE credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist (CSWMFT) Board. This program is approved for 1 continuing education credit [1 hour].
